PT11 Video Engine in Post?

First of all, screw the naysayers. Great job, Avid! PT11 Is amazing.

I'm about to start a gig and the editor is very into tech. He originally wanted to do the video satellite thing but that version of the Avid was too slow for the amount of footage they have.

So how would the Avid DNxHD workflow go down with Pro Tools? Are there any distinct advantages to getting this kind of material in lieu of regular turnovers? (QT+AAF+GT)

PT11 with Mediacomposer 7 as Video Satellite works fantastically - why was the Avid too slow?
For big jobs I would not even consider anything else!

It had something to do with the Unity vs Isis and which one worked with fibre channel I think. They have well over a million feet of coverage and the one that worked with video satellite was just way too slow with the amount of networked Avids they have.
