Default Renewal price ?

Have I missed something or did renewal prices really multiplied by 4 for Pro Tool Annual subscription ??

Just opened my visa account and saw I had been charged CAD$447 rather than the usual CAD$125... Of course I just created a case with support but just need to confirm and fast if this is a mistake or if prices really got up crazy like this ?

Pro Tools standard perpetual renewal is USD$200.

After checking on their site, renewal price still appears to be USD$99.

Not sure what ''perpetual'' means here - perhaps you have HD version ? I have the standard PT and always paid USD$99 (or CAD$125).

He's talking Annual subscription (not perpetual).

And yes, in a way, it will skyrocket. Most of the offers to get on subscription had an introductory pricing that only lasted 2 years. And then it jumped. So much so that people I know on subscription do not keep it on "auto renewal" (because what's the point after the intro period.) They "rebuy" in because there's usually a new discount (like there was this year.)

It's a dumb system from Avid to punish your continuing users -- but that's what it is. And unlike perpetual licenses, there is zero advantage to keep auto renew on for subscription after the intro pricing (because you lose nothing if it lapses and there's always a new offer from Avid)

It's not though.
It's USD$99 for subscription as a holiday promotion.
"Real Price" is USD$199.
Guess what you get hit with on renewal?
Avid's official store:
$199.00 1-Year Subscription, Paid Upfront (Download)
Holiday deals are here! Save 33% off the regular price when you purchase now, savings of $100 USD! No coupon code needed, price already reflects your savings.

Apologies. I missed the subscription part.

I get the point.
But even then, USD$199 means roughly CAD$260 and even adding taxes, that would be CAD$300, not $447 which made me jump to the ceiling.
