Default PT 10.3.4 upgrade advice

I just installed my new HDX system with PT 10. After installing 10.1 it told me there was 10.2, then 10.3, etc...I'm getting frustrated by having to keep doing clean installs and am wondering if it really makes a difference? I have loads of plugins so worry about having to spend time reinstalling them.

1. When you uninstall a version of Pro Tools do you loose all your plugin installations or do they stay on system drive and/or does Avid Plugin folder remain intact?

2. What is the risk of not doing a clean install of new version?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice, I'm sure someone else is experiencing this same frustration.

No need to reinstall all plugins each time. When you do an uninstall of PT it only uninstalls the stock plugins, not 3rd party stuff.

And for .1 .2 .3 releases, I'd just install them over top of the previous.

FWIW, I found 10.3.3 to be a really good one for me.

BTW, I'd just wait a few weeks and do the OS and PT updates all at once if you plan to go to 11.

Hi

I would goto version 10.3.5 directly and don't forget that the "AIR" Virtual Instruments are a separate installer amd should be version number 10.3 found here :

http://secure.digidesign.com/service...rticleId=43572

And PT 10.3.5 here:

Happy installing

PS - you find yourself having issues with TL Space Reverb Plugin too once you upgraded? I'm having lots of trouble recalling sessions that had TDM version of it now that i only have access to RTAS versions :/
