Default PT 8.0.4 MB2 Not recog. Sandra incl.

I have a MBox 2 that the USB light wont light up and Pro Tools 8.0.4 that also wont recognize it. Im running Windows 7....This was previously working untill i noticed artifacts in my recording before updating pro tools thinking that would eliminate the artifacts.....then after uninstalling PT reinstalling with out the MB2 plugged in updating and following the directions clearly ive run into this problem....

Ive Used the search through the DUC and google searched the DUC but no luck....
Ive searched Google itself hoping for other problems like mine and found some but its always for the mb2 pro or its on a mac.....so no luck

ive went through the basic trouble shooting per the DUC

ive also went through and optimized for Win7 per the DUC.....

the Mic l.e.d.s are dimly light when plugged into the usb (ive tried all the usb plugs avail on the comp)

i even went out today and bought a new quad core processor and installed it hoping that maybe i wasnt getting enough cpu for everything but that only made the comp run better n faster lol.....

here is the sandra report ive seen alot of mbox2 unrecognized posts that went unnoticed hopefully i left enough info on what i have and havent done along with this sandra report to get some help.....

Thanks in advance:

SiSoftware Sandra

Integrated graphics may be an issue(traditionally this has been a show-stopper). Since you are running a USB drive(which is supposed to be okay with WIn7) and a USB Mbox, there might be some current issues, so try changing some USB ports(or remove the drive to see if that makes a difference). Also, make sure that power management is off for the USB ports(check it even if you are sure, because they all reset on my system). Also, try a new USB cable.

switching cables (though i tried 3 before hand) did not work in hand with taking the drive out (i used the usb cord from that drive knowing that its good and runs my external) no luck ill buy one after work today so i have a "new" one just for kicks though.....

Im not sure what intergrated graphics are but ill google it and find out what i can do there BUT like i said this was running decently untill the update minus the artifacts in recording..... i tried to just go wit 8.0 but the problem doesnt change .... any suggestions why this would effect me and where to go to get out of the integrated and whats a good choice

i also bought a self powered hub thinking it might be a usb power issue due to my cheap end comp model "emachine" but it too didnt help....

Your graphics card is built into your motherboard, it's not a separate device.

But i can get NVIDIA Quadro fx 580 and be ok or do i need a new motherboard to escape the graphics trap?

and why is this keeping the MB2 from lighting the usb light?

It really all depends; for some motherboards with integrated graphics, disabling the graphics in the BIOS and installing a separate video card can help. Other times, not.

There are some other things about your setup that are not compatible (you need a separate qualified recording drive; the system drive or the USB drive are not supported, and all the card readers may be causing issues), but the graphics are a definite problem.

looks like going back to the OG Mbox, PT 7.4 , and Win XP is going to be the solution

here i thought upgrading to a new comp new mbox2 and the such was going to be the solution to getting a better sound instead i got left wit nuthin but a headache.....

ive already spent a grip of money on the computer,processor,MB2,display monitor, presonus tube pre etc etc....id hate to buy a new motherboard if i buy a graphics card n that doesnt work....

not sure where to go from here i guess....any suggestions ? move forward or go back ?

I feel like we're beating a dead horse. I have read countless threads searching in vain for a solution to this very problem. It seems like we mb2 users all have the same problem... at least those of us who are trying to use pt 8.0.4 with windows 7. I feel kind of abandon now that Avid has their new product line out there. Good luck solving your problem. Please post the results for the rest of us who are still scratching our heads...
