Default Re: anyone tried focusrite 824 or liquid pre?

havent used either one of those But have 2 428's and even though They are Rather Inexpensive Per Channel And I have Several pre's that are More Expensive But i use them for about 70 % of the Time that i am tracking Anything

wanting to get some Really Good Neve Pre's or Maybe Neve Clones

I have heard Great Things about the Vintech X series

I was wonderig Myself if there was any Difference in the Preamps that are in the 824 Compared to the 428?

I have read several great reviews of the Liquid Pre but its a lot of money for a single channel. I use the ISA428 and would recommend it over the 828 because; the 428 w/option card gives you 4 great preamps plus 4 line inputs to the 8 channel A/D converters. That's a great place to patch in 4 more preamps and have several different flavors available. Instead of 8 ISA pre's that all sound alike, you can have 4 and then say a pair of API 512's and a pair of Neve clones. Use you imagination and take advantage of having lots of choices.

It's a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
One pre with EQ & Dyn vs. 4 pres.
I thought long about this same question.
I have a 428 and use it primarily on VO and have been very happy with it but would love a 1073.

I guess I miss spoke.
Oh well, not the first time.
I think it's worth comparing.
I imagine the 428 liquid sounds just like a 428.
