opening MAC files on XP

I am trying to open a protools sessions that was recording and saved on a Mac on my PC XP system but can't seem to do it.
All the audio tracks are there, but there is no "protool" files to open, ie. the small file (about 300 Kbs) that will link me through to the audio files. when i try to open it it says it is in a format that protools doesn't recognise.

anyone have any ideas?

- The protools file is named .PTS. If you weren't given this, then the person who gave it to you made some sort of an error. There's some requirement about the pts file being saved in a particular way that allows compatibility: the chapter in the manual 'File Management and Compatibility' might help.

First try adding the .PTS extension to the session file. If the session wasn't saved as Mac/PC compatible.. then you'll need to be running 6.7 and open the drive directly off the Mac formatted drive using MacDrive from www.mediafour.com to mount the drive. Pro Tools will then create a mac/pc compatible copy.
