Should I buy a DA7?

I am a digi 001 user for now (Mac), hope to upgrade to mix+ when it's more affordable.
Currently. I hate the complexity of my Roland 168rc!
I don't have a lot of time to monkey around trying to get gear to work.
I want to record!
The contol surface...pre's, authentic studio and room to grow
sure look tempting.
Should I just get an apogee rosetta, mic pre and a mini hui instead

The DA7 is a little bit complicated to get going. You have to change some internal settings to get it to emulate a HUI on the first eight faders. It's like any other piece of gear, you have to learn how to get around it, but keep in mind that the DA7 does a LOT of stuff, so the learning curve might be pretty high. Good converters though, and the price on these things has gone SOOOOOO low!

Thanks for the input about the DA7. I have been reading through all the documentation
that I can find on da7.com. Manual, upgrades etc and I feel as long as the manual is acurate
I can figure it all out. They have a users forum so thats a big plus.
I fought with that Korg 168rc manual (it might as well have been written in Japanese)
I must admit that I get confused with that digital I/O section of the 001 too.
I'm gonna have to read it a few more times I guess
Yeah the DA7 is a great value! As long I can use it for some basic functions to start out
(mic pre's for the digi) I should be pleased.
