Default What are your mandatory required Plug-Ins for PT?

Happy Monday my friends,

I wanted to throw this question out to the community.

What are your mandatory required plug-ins when mixing with PT? The plugs you couldn't live without. It can be for any application or situation since we all have different types of clients which call for different kinds of processing.

And just for fun, how about the most useless plugs?

Too many useless ones(and a few may suddenly be useful in a special situation). As for "gotta haves"
Pultec EQ(don't care if its Bomb Factory or whatever but I gotta have a Pultec)
Melodyne(or other tuning program that allows total control)
Waves L2(but Massey L2007 would likely be a good sub)
IK Classik reverbs(but Redline from 112db gives a great first impression)
TL Space
SMACK! or softube's CL1B
Drumagog
Besides these, I can do most stuff with the stock EQ and BF76

For most of my clients aside from the stock plug-ins:

Waves Tune
Antares Auto Tune
Serato Pitch ‘n Time Pro
TL Space
Waves Gtr 3
Pultecs
Lexicon Reverbs
A Waves bundle, at least Gold
Ozone 4

If I had nothing else I could get by with this. Not including VIs.

So many tuning plugs.. there isn't just one that could handle all your auto-tune needs? Or do they have their special applications and therefore you need multiple plugs for that?

What's so special about Pultec anyway? I hear a lot of people recommend Pultec EQs. I actually had Pultec included in my PT bundle from 6+ years ago.. haven't used it since even though I have an auth key for it. And back then, I had absolutely no concept of what mixing even was. You know, I thought volume and pan basically constituted the whole spectrum of mixing. Hah! I should bust it out again, but I'm still curious what makes Pultec so special?

hey albee,
that caught my eye,
since long ago i posted that
in a desert island scenario
i could create eq and comp curves from just the stock (and free!)
digi hi pass and bf76 plugs...

everything else (including verbs)
are just candy
and can be created from the source.
best,
e

Re. the Pultec, it simply does high end in a way that is unmatched by any other plugin I have ever used. There is a certain "air" that is intangible, likely un-measurable, but my ears hear it(and so do my customer's ears). It is perfect for several tracks(Kick, Snare, Hat, Overheads) including vocals after compression, which often removes some high end harmonics.

Re tuning, I also have AutoTune for the lazy/easy stuff, but Melodyne(and other manual tuning plugins) allow for tremendous control(which means I can tune a vocal and NOT have it sound tuned....sorry Cher).

The stock Digirack EQ's and BF76 are all over my work, even though I have tons of other stuff(which I use, but would not die without.....).

Not saying that Melodyne doesn't do a great job but there have been many times that Autotune clearly did a better job in graphical mode for me when tweaking some of the settings. I admit I take a long time to do a Ld Vocal, sometime 2 hours or more depending on how much needs to be done but autotune has worked for me well since version 3.
Autotune
Melodyne
TL Space
Waves The SCC Collection

Thanks Albee.

I'll have to give the Pultec whirl! Just gotta find a download of it.

And lastly, which tuning plug would you guys recommend if I could only afford one for now?

Isn't it that song which gave birth to a plethora of auto-tuning techniques ?
