i don't feel i have much to say about 8 as you state

although i did PT8 last week on a client's mbox at his place after i set it up for him and
this was on a imac

was not crazy about the wave draws and the ease of navigation compared to trusty old tried and true 7.4...it felt just plain wreckless to me but some of that (only a little) i'm sure was that it was not my computer and set up for my ergonomics

i own it and it lives on a partition on my rig.....

the reasons i don't and won't use it at this time are well stated by my tongue on numerous occasions

I'm surprised you can't spot another Detroit guy telling it like it is.

I have PT8 on a G5...it works...but not cool enough to use it over 7.4 cc5
(subsequent cs versions don't work with my Magma as well as the UA plugs don't work anymore in PT8)
...and this is important info to some.

I yearn for the day that I get the feeling that upgrade is the right thing to do.

It's not like I can't afford it....

it just doesn't feel like the right thing to do today, now, and boy do I despise that feeling.

Take what you want and leave the rest.

PT8 works very nicely here on 2 separate G5 PCIx systems...
