No sound from Digi001 (headphone or monitor)

Hi there, I just got a Digi001. I'm running 5.3.1 with XP on a PC that is probably slower than most (1Ghz Athlon XP, 512 ram). It runs on a separate 80gb HD from my operating system drive. I can record sound (at least I see it recording with the levels moving up and down), but when I try to play it back, I get no sound from the headphone jack or monitors. What can I try besides buying a new motherboard? Any info would help . . .

well, you can check the headphone jack volume, you can check the track volume, the master volume, and whether you're in pre or post fader metering. Check input/output allocations for each track. Check to see whether you can get sound through the wavedriver, in winamp or something. Check the monitor mode button, try putting the speakers to a different set of outputs. Then you could check the cables, Unplugging and securely reconnecting each one to be sure it's set. This is especially true of the card, which you could unseat and reset, and it could probably use a waxing by this point. Just take it to a car wash and duct tape it to the roof of the car. Pull through, and watch the card spring to life. Make sure to get extra wax, and to roll the windows down.
