Default Pro Tools LE v6.1.1 MIDI bug???

Hi,

I'm having a very curious problem when working with MIDI with Pro Tools LE v6.1.1, don't know if it's a bug (a very obvious one) or something's wrong with my setup. This is 100% reproducible in any new Pro Tools LE v6.1.1 installation I do:

If you select a range of notes in a MIDI track, and then try to change the duration of the selected notes (you know, if you change the duration of a note, in this case all the others change too -this is used to change the sustain of a group of notes-) then in the contiguous MIDI tracks, the notes that are in the same selected range just disappear. Just to clarify I'm not selecting these notes too (of the other tracks), I'm just selecting the notes of the track I want to edit.

Please, look at these pictures to see the effect of this problem/bug:

Selecting the notes

After the changing the duration

My (very standard) setup:

Asus A7V8X-X
AMD Athlon XP2400+
512 MB RAM DDR333 Micron
80 GB Western Digital 7200 RPM HD
52x24x52 Sony CD-RW
nVidia GeForce4 MX440 AGP video card
350 Watt Codegen PS/case
Windows XP Professional
Digi001 / Pro Tools LE v6.1.1

nothing else...

Please note that this never happened with Pro Tools LE v5.31, neither with Pro Tools LE v6.1. Just happens with the latest version 6.1.1

Any input/solution, please?

Thank you!

It's working fine for me, efernan. I'm can't imagine what could be causing it. Tried just closing and reopening the sesh? -Roy

Hi again,

Something I noticed: it works fine in my other Mbox Pro Tools LE v6.1.1 setup. The problem is specific with my Digi001.

Any help?

Thanks!

Do the notes reappear when you click outside the track?

Are you using the trim tool?

Hi,

Thank you for respinding.

The notes just vanish. They don't reapear at all (unless I undo). Yes, I'm using the trim tool.

Thanks!

I have noticed this problem too, but only when working on a Reason Adapted midi track. I didn't notice a problem before installing the bundle. It's very scarey when your tracks above and below disappear. Just undo and find another technique. It appears to only be tracks that use rewire. I couldn't reproduce the problem when just using the 001's midi interface. I've only been able to summize that it happens when a session has been open a long time; when there has been alot of copying, cutting and pasting; and with several Reason instruments in use.

AFAIK, this problem has been talked about before. I'm of the belief the next PTLE will fix it.

I too remember hearing this issue about 6 months ago. I believe the solution may have been to zoom in closer to the note when applying trim.
