corrupt pro tools installation disk

i tried to install pro tools on my pc, and get the message that the installation disk is corrupt. i was planning to buy the expansion pack and start programming patches in the gui.

is it possible to download protools le 8.0.x somewhere as a workaround. i haven't used my codes.

Yes. If it's a new item you can use the registration code to get into your online account and download everything. My disc was corrupt and apparently so have a lot of other people's disc.

yes, it is a new item. i had the 11r for 4 weeks, but only been programming it from the box. i have an avid account. i cannot find le 8.0.x anywhere to download. the box was sealed when i got it and i haven't opened the envelope with the disk's before today.

do i need to register my eleven rack somewhere before i can get to the downloads? what codes do i need to use? sorry about all the questions, feeling like a nOOb, but i have problems navigating and finding stuff on avids site.

if somebody that have had the same problem as i have, all help appreciated

i have registred my 11r and gotten the confirmation code, support code and so fort. after more than 5 hours trying to find out where to download le 8.0.x, no dice. i'm prob a bad case of computer inliteracy frustration is sorta creeping in here

just a follow up to those that followed this tread. it took some time from i sent the form to i got the automated respons - like 4 hours. from the automated respons to i got the download link 47 minutes - just wow. from there on just the download, put in the number on the envelope and off i went ... downloaded 8.0.5 and bought the expansion pack ... 40 min. i am ready rock .

Same problem here. I bought the 11R in september, programmed everything on the machine itself. But now I want to purchase the Expansion Pack, so I had to install Pro Tools. Unfortunately, my DVD has some scratches on it and therefore I cannot install Pro Tools. I registered a case to Avid support and I hope I will receive a download link quickly
