Are you using it in standalone and/or with Pro Tools?

If you're using Pro Tools, what version?
What OS are you using?
Have you installed latest drivers? In Control Panel>Device Manager>double click Sound Video and Game Controllers. Are Avid Eleven Rack and Avid Eleven Rack RT DFU entries showing?

This statement seems to be contradictory. Can you clarify what you mean.

The unit is obviously 2nd hand. Were you able to try it before you bought it to ascertain whether or not the it actually works?

Press and hold Edit/Back button for a couple of seconds. Use scroll knob to select 'Rig Input'. Press SW 1 button. Use Rig input knob to select 'Guitar'. Press Edit back button twice to get back to main screen.
