Default looks like I might be moving on

well it makes me sad and mad at the same time. I wanted to upgrade to the 002R and be able to use my rosetta 800 96k to record multiple tracks at once (more than 2). It seems digi has designed the 002R product to not be capable of this. The only way would be to purchase the more "non home studio" products that digi offers at a much higher price...HD. I have always really liked digi products and am kind of shocked that the 002R can't do this. I'm looking at Logic Pro and they offer some great stuff that is persuading me to get an array of capabilities, plugs and design in a simple package. This is sad as I wanted to stay ith protools. why digi ? why ?

Are you gonna buy the firewire option for your Rosetta ?
8 tracks into Logic Pro ... or other soft.

I also made my switch last week to logic pro.

SOUND ON SOUND has a review of PT7 LE
nice remark:

"however, you could contend that the gap between LE and HD hardware has become too great, and maybe a product
along the lines of the old Pro Tools Project card that just took care of I/O and left the DSP processing to RTAS
plug-ins on host machines would be a good way of bridging the gap"

I'm more thinking of a box with some DSP power and ability to do a zero latency monitoring system...
internal converters... maybe 2 but that's all... i'll just hook my a/d's and pre's
but atleast a box with 2x s/pdif, adat, aes and wordclock input. (like that MAUDIO project mix i/o)

AND LASTLY let it make a difference because i don't see much difference between the m-powered and the LE.
Everything is at the same level and the gap to the HD is way too big.

I think they are going to announce something at NAMM
There will be an updated product for the DIGI002 next year...

There is an awful lot of crossover between the LE and the m-powered stuff... it actually seems the m-powered route is more flexible with all of the interface options. I would guess that they would have to address that soon somehow with LE becoming more of their middle-market product.
