Protools 'Loading Plugins Freezes

Hi All.

I have installed the trail of PT ultimate to test out and get back in the swing of it before a new job starts.

I have done a fresh install of 2024.10.2 and on starting PT it gets up to 'Loading Plugins' and freezes. nothing happens at all and then I have end task.

I have moved every plugin out of
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins
thinking it was a problematic plugin but I still get the same issue, freezing on loading plugins. I can't seem to make it not scan plugins either, I read holding shift stops it but it doesn't seem to, maybe that's just on a project.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, I just can't seem to find any solution on the treads.

I have also tried running as Administrator.

Win 11, Desktop i7-8700k

Hi. In case you havent tried yet, try creating a new user profile and try opening pro tools on that new account. You can also try disabling antiviruses and anti malware.

Also try disabling any VPN connections or other firewalls preventing online license authorizations. Try opening iLok manager before opening PT etc.

I was wondering if you were able to find a solution. I think I'm having the exact same problem so and also tried what you described.

No sorry I haven't had any luck at the moment. I installed it on my laptop and didn't have any issues at all so worked on my laptop on protools for now. I have active projects on using Cubase on my main machine and didn't want to risk messing about in settings in case I messed that up too! I won't be using pro tools on this computer on going at least in the medium term so I haven't needed to look into this further. If you are paying for pro tools you can ask them for help. I asked but because I was on the 30 day trail they wouldn't help.

Oh just to say I did disable anti virus / firewall etc but that didn't help. I didn't try making a new account like one of the suggestions. So that might work but as I said I managed to get it working on my laptop which was enough for me for the period of time I needed to practice for a job.
