same here ... when I look at the file, it's one .wav file, but when I import it into a session and tell it to create a new track, it creates two and splits the file.
This also started happening when I started getting the error "Audio Processing Deadline not met" which happens randomly and lists different plugins as the cause. Both of these problems are getting very frustrating and support just wants us to remove folders, uninstall/reinstall, trash prefs, ... etc. It is so hard to get work done when so many hours are spent troubleshooting

Interleaved session should not split.

If you have a stereo interleaved PT SESSION and you import stereo interleaved file and it ends up as split mono, it is a bug.

The two spit files from that stereo file, does it have .L and .R after the file name in the tracks or .A1 and .A2?

I have the same problem here.

Session is on "interleaved"

It does split the files to "name.A1" and "name.A2".
I´m not sure from wich DAW the files were bounced of.

When importing with drag and drop..same issue. Only workaround is to create stereo tracks first and then drag and drop..
weird!!
Any ideas?

Session format doesn't matter.
Only the originating DAW of the files matter.

There's nothing to be done if you can't get the original export redone on that other DAW so it is tagged correctly. You just have to deal with it.

I'm having the same issue, with stereo interleaved files from a pro tools bounce.

My session was created with stereo interleaved and session options show it as stereo interleaved

If dragged to a stereo track, they behave like an interleaved file. If imported they translate as .L .R files.

Funny thing is Izotope RX reads them perfectly as stereo files.

Opening the files in stereo monoizer, the files show tagged as interleaved

Definitely a bug

Original files come from mac, my setup runs on PC... might this be a factor?

That unknown reason is, PT originally mimicked tape recorder, which were only storing mono. You made it stereo or surround in the mixing console you used.

Interleaved sessions were a new feature of PT10.

Regardless of the historical origin, the thing is, sometimes pro tools imports stereo files as stereo interleaved, sometimes it imports them as separate L and R. imho, this should not happen.
