Default Octane lightpipe question

Hello, newbie here first off. I have a Firewire1814 and an Octane. They were working for about 8 months then suddenly no audio from the Octane was making it's way to the 1814. When I pulled the optical cable I noticed that I no longer had a light coming from the 1814 ADAT in. Nor do I have one from the Octane. ProTools recognizes the Octanes inputs but sees no signal. I am seeing signal into the Octane via front LED's. Any ideas?

Hi,

If there's no light coming out the octane lightpipe output then its not outputting a digital signal? maybe a setting in the octane to switch on the digital format to sp/dif (I doubt it would put out true adar format 8 channels so would be just 2 channel sp/dif)

The octane output should have light from it.
The 1814 won't have light because its an input and only outputs will have a light coming out etc.

the 1814 control panel should have a digital input selection for sp/dif in the routing pane? mine has! i have an 1804 for mac sound.

Default Re: Octane lightpipe question

Okay, In case anyone comes up against this. The problem was solved by turning off the Octane and turning it back on. My computer stays on all the time as does the Octane. Apparently it reset whatever was wrong with the light.
