Any of you noticing how is the performance compared to Catalina ?
Also Remember that UAD is not compatible if you have an UAD FireWire device like UAD Satellite FireWire.

I would say that Protools running on Monterey is generally better in most cases but at other moments it seems to stutter on screen redraws. I haven't pin pointed the cause or been able to reliably repeat it. Not a show stopper as the audio continues to work as expected.

I can appreciate those that invested in UAD Satellite Firewire devices. Apple stopped making computers with firewire since 2012, 10 years ago. At some point you need to let go of the legacy equipment and move on to something more current. In digital audio, technology keeps moving. While there are thunderbolt to firewire adapters, they don't work for everything.

Apologies if this seems like a stupid question but...

With this announcement (just got an email today about it), does that mean that Pro Tools runs properly on Monterey/M1 combo INCLUDING VIDEO PLAYBACK?

Avid's announcement was for Monterey compatibility, but not M1. It does run on an M1, but if you ask about "properly" many would say no because it's using Rosetta and not running natively, which would be my definition of properly. I'd use Rosetta if forced to, but would strongly prefer native.

I can say that video has been functioning well for me w/ PT 2021.12 and Monterey 12.3.

I have the same question about M1 support as I got the same email. I clicked the link and it shows that Monterey on M1 requires PT 2021.12 and Avid plugins 2022.2. At the bottom of the chart it has the following.
* Designates Apple Silicon (M1) support via Rosetta 2.

There is no asterisk by PT 2021.12 and Avid plugins 2022.2 under Monterey/M1. So does that mean it is native M1 or is the Avid documentation not correct or can I not read correctly?

Just so we are all clear, Protools 2022.12 with the updated plugins is not running native on Apple silicon (M1, M1Pro, M1Max, M1 Ultra). It runs using Rosetta 2.

i'm getting regular crashes on Monty 12.2.1

seems to happen more after buying/installing Clarity VX pro yesterday- or could be that I 'switched' project yesterday too - was on another film for a few days before that and no crashes....

should I update to 12.3? but note that waves V13 is stating runs on 12.1 no mention of 12.3

If it were me, I'd be updating to 12.3.1 which was just released. Waves may not mention this version specifically but I'd be highly surprised if it functions on 12.1 but not 12.3 -- I don't believe anything was introduced in these latest updates that would cripple Waves.

yeh might give it a go at lunchtime , this is happening after a destructive punch on about 40 tracks. ( part of the job )

was handling fantasticly mon to weds - was even doing these punches onto a networked SSD -

I've move files locally on the problematic lproject - but I do seem to remember that I'd had Clarity VX open on many of these crashes..

I would think that the “networked SSD” would be suspect, given the recent posts on drives randomly dropping. (I have not experienced this personally)
