Importing tracks in 2021.12

Weird things happening when importing aux tracks from one session to another, destination track seems almost dead, no meter, no sound...

(Edit : I should have added some details :
Mac Pro 2013 "trashcan", hdmi graphics on big screen (1440 pixels high), Sonnet EchoExpresss Iii-D and one HDX card.
2021.12 on BigSur

Do you mean importing an Aux from a different session? I do this all the time with no issue. Did it this afternoon actually. I assume you know that Aux tracks have no sound unless they have a bus routed to them. Are you sure your routing is correct?

No this is a real issue. I often use aux tracks to bus brass instruments or vocal harmonies, for global treatment and reverb sends.
When working on an album I tweak the settings on one Aux bus track and then on another session I import this aux track alongside the current one and slip the plugin slots and/or reverb sends from one to the other ' selectively. I know there are other ways of doing this (track settings presets etc.) , but I am happy working like this.
The new track is weird, even though it's input /output selections are ok, it plays dead, no meter at all, it is even difficult to deactivate. Clearly something is wrong. This plus of course the completely misaligned VCA master meters, another recurring issue, something is bugged. I suppose Apple has been playing around with the graphics in Big Sur.

Try bypassing the plugin. Is it possible that the plugin has lost its authorization? Some will give no obvious indication other than not passing audio(I know this is a stretch, but it was worth asking)

I am seeing an issue where after I commit a track with an active send, to say a reverb, The "Committed" Track that has the same aux send, it is not sending unless I do a deactivate and then activate. It seems random.

Also related to importing audio from another session, I am getting automation nodes at the end of a clip.... This has been a bug that has been squashed and has reappeared SEVERAL times over the years.... Its back again

It seems to be some kind or GUI refresh glitch, that seems to be common with the import track problems

if you slide a normally working track from let's say the left of the weird track to its right, everything goes back to normal. It works for imported tracks that go kind of blank on the console, but also for VCA tracks with misaligned meters.
