Default mbox 2 pre opinions

well, been giving the mbox 2 a run through. tested the mic pres out. i think these things are overly dark and dull. i compared them to my octopre. the octopre was much more open and brighter sounding. keep in mind, i was also using at2020's, which are pretty bright sounding mics to begin with. it is almost like the mbox 2 pres have a high frequency roll off! what do other users think? the AD converts are not bad.
