Compatibility with Intel Core 2 Duo Macs

I've heard people saying that ProTools LE 6 doesn't support Intel Core 2 Duo macs. Is that true? Also, is there anything that MBox 1 is stronger than MBox 2?

To run ProTools on an Intel Mac, you need version 7.1.1. PT 6 won't work.

In terms of the Mbox 1 vs 2, i don't thing there's anything that the 1 does better.

The mbox 1 has a trs insert which allows breaking the signal between the pre and converter so you can use the pre and an outboard compressor when recording.

the question was about the new intel core !2! duo macs - i don't think they are supported yet - they might even have a new chipset or whatever on the motherboard... (macbook pro's up until now had the core duo cpu's - without the 2)
So i would wait for the compatibility thumbs up from digi or at least wait for a couple of positive reviews on the duc.

I would assume he's referring to the iMacs, which have had Core 2 Duos for a month or so. I'm pretty sure those are working out rather well, if someone who owns one could chime in on that.

We're updating the compatibility documents to indicate the Pro Tools is currently unsupported on any Core 2 Duo Mac - either iMacs or MacBook Pro's. While there are no known issues, until we complete testing on these models we won't know if there will be any problems.
