I recently bought the old Control 24 which I´m very happy with but the infamous monitor section...
I can live with the "4 bit" resolution volume knob but my big question is : Don´t you think the active monitor path makes the sound slightly too "crispy", a little more treble than it should be. I´m coming from cheapo passive Volume control but I´ve got a feeling that the Control 24 is bringing a slightly colored signal to my speakers. Am I alone with this ?

I'm interested in this too. What would you consider to be a good monitor system?

In fact, the only function my Control 24 has is the faders for automation writing, and the "flip" function comes in handy for plug mapping, automation writing. Mixer... nope, noisy monitor section.. nope, noisy Preamps... nope, noisy all the "shortcut" buttons... nope, keyboard is quicker But it does hold my desk together. ![]() Oh... and did I mention the Power Supply? Mine had a problem and the closest guy that Digi recommended to fix it was in Chicago, and gonna cost over 1500.00 to replace. (digi won't do this series as they say they do not even have parts.) So I took it to my local electronics expert.. 150.00, and all has been good for weeks. Got my fingers crossed. SB |

Do you mean the "Submixer" when you say noisy. Never tried that.
The micpre´s are pretty silent to my ears, but the DI inputs didn´t work with my guitar. Overloaded the input. The power supply was replaced just weeks before I bought mine, so I guess I had some luck there... Anyway the faders are worth every penny when automating or programming VI´s. I have to do some tests switching between the Control 24 monitor section and my passive Volume knob.

I'm trying just now a SPL Surround Monitor Controller, after years of Control24, (btw everything sounds better than Control 24) and I love it.
Open, detailed and real. Anybody tried the audient "Centro Master Section Monitor Controller"? me not. I woud like to buy one of this (Spl or Audient), any suggestion is welcome, if somebody have got those controller.
