Default Using a microphone preamp with Digi002 Rack

I'm new, and have already have a post trying to get my Digi002 Rack to work. I don't believe my laptop is capiable of handling the Digi002 Rack, the problem probably being that it doesn't not have firewire built in and the expansion cards are not compatable with the Digi002 Rack. So, I'm selling my laptop and building a new PC (similar to the Allenstein, but with a different case). Another one of my questions is what is the best way of hooking a microphone preamp to the Digi002 Rack? I have a Sytek MPX-4Aii, which has 4 channels. Should I use Inputs 1-4 or 5-8? Simple newbee question, but a valid one I suppose.

I can't find a comparable 4-Channel pre-amp for less then a $1000. Steve Albini has four of them at Electical Audio Studios, so I figure if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me.

Another question...what should my clock be set at? The only setiing at will work is "Internal" but I see several threads saying to change it to "ADAT." My preamp doesn't use "ADAT", so are my intinal settings correct?
