Got the 5.1 CD in the mail...
Digi-
I recieved the 5.1 CD installer in the mail yesterday, having downloaded and installed the web upgrade several weeks ago. I love the fancy quick reference keyboard shortcuts sheet - very nice. Stupid question - is there anything else on the CD that I need to install, or is the CD supplied just to have for backup? What didn't we get on the web installer - if anything? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Got the 5.1 CD in the mail...
Not a stupid question, IMHO. In fact, great minds thinking alike, I posted this very same question yesterday on the Digi001 for Windows forum (by mistake...I'm a Mac-head).
The answer I got was that the only additions were the demo sessions, Digidesign Control Panel (already have it from 5.0.1) and sound drivers (for pre-0S9 Macs), templates, and demo plug-ins. Can someone (DigiTechSupt perhaps?) tell us definitively if we faithful (and impatient) downloaders will have an advantage from reinstalling from the CD, please??? Re: Got the 5.1 CD in the mail...
Good question...
I sure don't want to mess with things if I dont' have to. Everything seems to be working OK. ------------------ LW

Re: Got the 5.1 CD in the mail...
Last PM, I was scrolling (whatever happened to flipping) through the digirack plug in guide, and I encountered some weird stuff under Mod Delay - that I assume is only for TDM systems, but doesn't contain the usual alert at the bottom of the section saying (.... is for TDM systems only).
It talks about the procrastinator coomand, and tempo entry - maybe a misplaced section on beat detective or something else that the TDM folks get that LE leaves out? Oh and BTW I love the inactive plug-in (control - command-click on the plugin) feature that frees up CPU cycles - that is AWESOME. |
