Default PowerMac G5 or new Intel Core 2 Duo iMac???

What would be better for running ProTools LE 7.4: an old PowerMac G5 with 2 processors or one of the new IntelCore 2 Duo iMacs? Im trying to decide which one to buy, but I'm lost. If the specs are more or less the same (ie. 4 GB Ram, 2.0-2.4 Ghz…), which one would be better?

Specs are not similar, they have totally different connectivity aspects which is the major point of why you would be looking at a Power Mac instead of a new iMac.

well i have a dual core g5 and an intel aluminum imac which both 2 gig processors and both have 4 gig of ram, (imac had to share memory for the video card) well more or less their pretty much the same in performance, but i found the g5 to be more stable but the imac somehow is faster in rendering ( audiosuite ), well it would all depend what are you going to use it for, i have 2 le systems (digi002), well i had to buy an external drive (glyph gt) for the imac coz the projects had to be placed on a Seperate drive, well if you plan to upgrade to HD i'd suggest you get the power pc (g5)/mac pro coz of the core card (PCIe), its true that the power pc has more expansion options but if your happy with a simple practical set-up like having an imac, then your good to go buy one!
