Default MIDI Latency with Virtual Instruments

Hello There,

I am currently using an original Mbox on a Mac Mini (PPC 1.42 Ghz G4) with the Native Instruments Komplete 3 bundle and Pro Tools 7.1. My keyboard controller is a M-Audio Radium 49 connected via USB.

I am having a severe latency problem from when I press a key to the triggering of a sound using a virtual instrument such as Elektrik Piano. It's getting very frustrating to play this virtual instrument, because of not having instant or a reasonably acceptable response.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'll mail you a cheesesteak from the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia.

Thanks,
Albert.

Have you tried to lower the buffer size? If not, try 128 or even 64.

You find it in the menu Setup > Playback Engine. Low buffersize=low latency!

good luck!
