Default Projectmix/Pro Tools/Select a region.

I read in the manual I have to press and hold the ZOOM buton until it starts to blink, then press the left or right arrow and use the jog wheel to select regions on the left or right. Well, I tried this and it does nothing. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
