Default New G4 compatibilty

Hi:

I heard about a new G4 that just came out last week that is supposed to blow away the old Macs in processing power. Does anyone know if this new model is 24 Mix++ compatible?

Thanks

Here's the latest on the new G4's. I'm looking into a DP 867 myself to replace my 9600 to work with my Pro Tools 24 Mix Plus system.

I'm using the new Dualie Ghz with D24 and Mix Farm (swap in and out) and it works great. But faster and smoother.

The dual processor bug fix they released is great.

Got the new dual 867, installed the cards for my mix plus, it works great! so fast, editing is almost too fast (sometimes i can't even tell what i've done it moves so quickly). blows away my old g4 and i sure get a hell of a lot of rtas plugs.

Actually... there seems to be a bit of a flap in some of the stuff I'm reading because the new (post 8/13/02) Dual 1GHz G4

DOES NOT

offer ANY speed benefit over the older, way cheaper, Dual 1GHz G4.

It has a more beefy power supply and offers A LOT more ambient noise to the area in which it is placed (according to new owners)... but that's about it.
