Default Blasts of white noise in LE systems. Forever?

Hi there everybody.

I have a 001 (year 1999) and a Mbox (2004) and I'm purchasing soon a 002. But I don't want anymore to fry my ears nor my friends and clients. Don't want this to happen never again. Enough of damaging my ears.

- Can somebody suggest me a good limiting system please?
- Digi: put a hardware limiter in your LE products while trying to solve this f***** eternal bug!

Peace,

EasyB

When do you get this noise? I've got an m-box and a digi 002 and have never had anything like what your describing... Also haven't heard of any others with this issue...

Thanks to both for answering...

This is an old issue (many people have discussed about it in the DUC) yet Digi has not any solution for it, after so much time. It shows up in totally different scenarios and is still very impredictable! We can talk and talk about PC's, Mac's, Chipsets, Hard Drives cables, software patches and bla bla..

One thing is sure: it fries ears! So a good bunch of us is always very anxious in recording or mixing sessions with our ears and our clients ears eventually exposed to such a blast.

Lucky you that never had it!

I love PT, but I need an ear-guard. Any idea?

Thank you.

Every one who had this problem can tell a different story... It happens to me in an old but very good PC w. digi01 and now with a very good and new laptop with Mbox. Hw or Sw configs doesn't matter, it happens in different systems and platforms!

If I tryed everything? No, but maybe I would like it.

Sorry for beeing sarcastic, but I guess that my ears bleeding so many times has an effect on my character

I'm really glad that you got rid of this, Joao.

I had this issue with my XP2500+ system and a DIGI002. Once I installed a UPS (APC800va) the problem never happened again. The best $120 I ever spent. It also has saved a session when the power went out during a bounce.

Re: the Power supply issue... I think it's a good point. also, you may find, as do i, that having too many other apps running can make it worse, and also using airport and / or bluetooth at the same time as pro tools can make things worse too.
