Default Close Session Vs Quit Session

If I close a session and then reopen a new one I find that more often then not at least one of the tracks plays 2 or 3 seconds later than the other tracks. The faders are playing in time with the audio but it seems to be selecting to play the tracks randomly. Some tracks are playing in sync with each other - but they don't correlate with the recorded audio. It is very weird and disheartening.

Perhaps this is related to another error message I (occasionally) get - that my audio clock is off - which does not appear to be true - as always record at 48000 I am using an Avid Mbox 2. I updated the firmware to no apparent effect.

Perhaps I made an obvious mistake in preferences and set-up?

Delay compensation is off.

Sometimes the problem is there even when I quit in between session - but mostly when I close a session and open another.

Any ideas would be more than welcome! Thank you.

I always close my DAW...reopen it...load my session.

Given the complexity of DAWs and the "hangover" junk that sometimes doesn't get cleared out, I just find it easier to start with a "clean slate"...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

Never had that issue here. Generally, I open PT at the start of the day and move from session to session without issue. Maybe some details about your system would help point to a reason for your problem?http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=300050
