Default Pro Tools 8 upgrade freeze on install - very frustrated

Greetings All,

This is my 4th (going on 6 hours) time trying to install PT 8.0 upgrade that came with the 7.4 purchase. I'm installing from a zipped file provided by Digi.

I've combed the internet and user forums for all possible fixes mentioned, tried them and still get hung up on "Installing Digidesign Hardware Drivers...."

I've turned off all security products, used ptnuke, removed 7.4, etc... here's my specs.
Thanks for any help.

Default Re: Pro Tools 8 upgrade freeze on install - very frustrated

Did you disconnect your interface before uninstalling 7.4? And re-attach it only when told to by the PT8 installer? Just wondering if its just a simple mis-read on the install instructions. Any time an install fails, you should run the uninstall utility and reboot before the next install attempt.
