Default Sound of ffocus Vs. ChannelStrip

I have done multiple tests and have found that I like the sound of the ffocus plugs over Channel Strip.

Especially on samples like 808 snare / bass and 303 hits.

There is an occation when the ChannelStrip side chain compression has saved my rear. But, most of the time I perfer the ffocus plugs.

Am i alone?
How do you hear it?

I usually used focusrite on drums until I found Channel Strip. I think it wins most of the time the EQ sounds particularly more controlled and tight esp on toms. But I usually do Waves and filterbank for most others.

This is just an opinion...but it must be my ears, since from day one, i've always thought focusrite EQ sounds really bad. When you start boosting in the highs...ouch !!! HARSH...Anyways, i was really disappointed since we own a Focusrite REd EQ and it does not sound anything like the plug.
Waves ren, Filrebank are cool. Channel Strip are also useful especially on drums. Again, just my opinion.

Want more? Ok.

I rarely need more eq and compression than CB3. McDSP just rocks.

Focusrite plugs border on useless. But sometimes you want something to sound mushy or irritating. Perfect for that.

Okay most of us here seem to agree that focusrite sounds bad, but just out of curiosity, do we all also agree that focusrite is only second place when it comes to being bad? How about the digirack eq's? Yech!

Anyway, yeah don't use focusrite unless you dont have a choice, and if that happens don't boost anything over 2k. It aint pretty. Channelstrip is nice and tight on drums and very DSP efficient. It would be nicer if you could use just the channelstrip eq's so you could save more DSP. For cymbals and anything other than drums use Waves or McDSP.
