2022.7 Midi Edit Window Double-Click Behavior Woes
Hi, all. I spent a large chunk of my day going thru old posts about the Midi Edit window behavior. After trashing prefs to try to solve a Waves problem, when I double-click a MIDI region, it opens the "split-screen" MIDI edit pane at the bottom of the Edit Window. I just updated to 2022.7, thinking that might solve it, to no avail.
For the past, I dunno..., 10 YEARS I've been working with MIDI by double-clicking a region that brings up the MIDI editor in a separate window, which I can make full screen and toggle thru edit, mix, & MIDI by using "Command-`". Now, even if I use the "Control-=" command, which does open the separate window, when I try double clicking the MIDI region (or any MIDI region) again, it re-opens the "split-screen". In the past, double clicking a MIDI region would open it in a separate editor window, and if I double clicked a different region it would bring up that MIDI in the same editor window. The problem I'm running into by using the "control-=" method is that each double click of a region opens a NEW MIDI edit window, which means I end up with all these confusing extra editors. Here's a screen recording if that helps anyone: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jjhnd3vkvf...%20PM.mov?dl=0 Any help GREATLY appreciated!! |

Re: 2022.7 Midi Edit Window Double-Click Behavior Woes
There is now a new feature/option setting in Settings>Preferences>MIDI that let's you choose the behavior when double clicking a MIDI clip.
The docked view is the new default when double clicking a MIDI clip. You can switch it to MIDI Editor. Hopefully I'm understanding you correctly and this is the solution for you.
