Default Stereo Image!

Does anyone find that Pro Tools squashes the stereo image when you bounce to disk making it sound more narrow than it did in your studio or is it just me? Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

The image will definitely fold in if you're hitting the mix bus too hard. While you're monitoring, it might sound great because you've got the benefit of the full 24 bit audio and 32 bit engine. When it's bounced to 16 bit, you're going to lose a lot of detail and the imaging is something that can suffer. That may not be what you're hearing, but I've experienced this myself many times.

Hey Shawn! Thanks for writing me back. I find it very frustrating that my mix sounds narrow. But I could be hitting the 2 buss too hard. I'll try to watch that. Is there a plugin or device that would help keep the imaging in its' place?
