Are you running it resident?
I have ghost 8, and I don't have that problem, but I don't keep it loaded. I create a boot floppy with it, and then uninstall it completely. Whenever I need to do a backup I insert the boot disk, reboot, do what I need to and then reboot again to get back to normal. I've never run it resident, though, so that might be an issue.
YMMV

does it work actively while your recording to hold the audio in a buffer, or send the audio to a different drive or folder as well as your session? or is it just a utility to back a session up from one drive to another, sorry never heard of it and just need a few details to troubleshoot.

Just curious, but how much room is left on your C partition after loading Ghost9? (with PT also installed).....almost sounds like your partition is full, though it could well be something else.

Why don't you list your hardware and OS version details.
