That is okay as in not getting new releases, but stop providing authorizations for legitimate product is not. Either you keep authorizing or release a free version for a product that has no business value anymore. RTAS works with PT10 and you need Mountain Lion for it, or Mavericks with quirks. It is already hard to find computers that can do it, but whoever has bought the old RTAS version should get it authorized after a computer rebuild.

Just my opinion of course.

100%.

If you’re going to change the authorisation system then you should make the old software available to be authorised via the new system.

Tascam still will authorize a Gigastudio installation, it might take a couple of weeks but they will last I heard. I remember when home computers first started coming out that the big selling point on some software was you just have to buy it once and it will be upgraded for free from then on. LOL!
