Default The Ghost of 5.0.1

Hi Guys....

Riddle me this: A friend of mine (once) had PT 5.0.1 instaled but is now using 5.1.1 - BUT once in a while (when he doubleclicks on the session files) his MAC wil start up 5.0.1 and NOT 5.1.1.

I thought I could solve the problem by simply removing his copy of 5.0.1 BUT THERE IS NONE. Not even after I removed the 5.0.1 preferences the problem seems to go away. It is only "attached" to certain session files, but will occur everytime on those specific files.

Hm.....? Anyone?

Peter

once in a while (when he doubleclicks on the session files) his MAC wil start up 5.0.1 and NOT 5.1.1.

-Does PT 5.0.1 actually launch or does the Mac OS report a "could not open file because PT 5.0.1 could not be found" error?

If the former, then there is a lingering copy of the PT 5.0.1 application on one of the drives connected to the system...hunt it down and remove it. (since a PT 5.0.1 preference file is created, this is most likely the case)

-If the latter, I would suggest rebuilding the Desktop file for all drives.

The session is launching completely. And I already tried to hunt it down and delete it. But it was nowhere to be found. Maybe I should try again.

do a sherlock search on "DAE" : as Russel said you may have several copies of this. There should only be one DAE app. on your disk

Another reason may be that the PT app. file was
renamed

Try searching for all applications on your disks and see if the PT icon shows up somwhere...

Good luck...
