Default C24 - First Impressions

Hi,

Last night we finished rebuilding our main control room around a C24.

It looks fantastic and the "vegas" trick is a show stopper...

But mostly, it's a drastic change.
After working with it most of today, I can tell you that's it's going to take a while to really take advantage of it. Almost everything is done faster with a mouse a keyboard when you're used to it. I could see my staff forcing themselves to use the C24 for tasks that they could do instantly the old way.

But that doesn't worry me. There are a couple of issues that I need to ask you DIGI guys about, as they DO worry me.

1. Again, this is on after a few hours only: We have a feeling that now that the audio (main PT outs) is going thru the C24 on its way to the monitors, it sounds different.
Is the path a short and clean as possible? It's not going thru some a/d/a route, is it?
2. The loud pop (more like a bang)on our (shut off)Mackie monitors when turning C24 on or off is scary as hell. What can we do about it?
3. The mono button raises the level of the mix.
4. The overall monitor out level seems a bit low.

I will tell you more in a few days.
Digi, please respond to this.

Hi, I'm a ProControl owner and while your camping out on our forum until your own gets built I may be able to help with a few of the points:

After 2 years of owning a Procontrol, I still remind myself frequently to use features on the desk rather than using a mouse...I will get there eventualy.

1) Are you using the very best possible cabling? Or just 'regular stuff'?
2) Happens with all self powered monitors - switch em off first! No biggie
3)Left & right combined IS louder, allways, by 3 db.
4) Are you sure your Mackies are 'maxed-out" ?

All the best, & good luck!

Jules
