Default Differences Between Eleven Rack & Eleven Plugin

Can anyone please explain what would be the main difference between the Eleven Rack and the Eleven Plugin .... ???

Surely besides having the I/O .... I would like to mainly know if the Rack offers more sounds or better clarity or anything ...

In short .... What would I gain in buying the Eleven Rack if I am plugging my Guitar to my interface and running the Eleven Plugin ??

Cheers

no fx or ERXP in RTAS/TDM/AAX.

11R has fx and more amps/cabs with the ERXP.

Plus other features like embedded rig settings.

not to mention the processing is done by the hardware so its not hitting your cpu like a plugin does.

Benoni is correct.

Also note that the amps and cabinets that are present in both the plugin and the rack do sound identical.

As well as variable impedance on the input of the rack

That's a hardware feature. I think he was talking about software differences.

Nevertheless, it does alter the sound.

Another thing to think about is that you will always have ultralow latency with the hardware, no need to set buffer sizes or even go up to a higher sample rate to get the latency down.
This is the main reason why I don't like to play with amp sim plugins in DAW's.
With the hardware I can record in 44/24 with a really nice, fast response in the modelled amps.

No, it does not need an Eleven Rack. It just shows up as a plugin, and can be used on any audio track.

An additional plus for the 11Rack is that's its a cheerful orange color. Sure to brighten and add warmth to any studio

Seriously though. One nice thing is the ability to record both a clean and a effected track simultaneously. The advantage to this over the plug is that it uses 0% of your CPU. And you can always duplicate and reamp the clean track using the rack its self or the plugin. Its fairly easy to create a dense guitar mix without breaking the CPU bank.

I have this plug in.I loved it and used a simple ART TUBE MP tube preamp into my delta 1010 to get really great guitar sounds.Effects used were from my pedals and an old zoom 9150 tube fx processor.I enjoyed doing a whole album with the eleven plug in.

you can here the tracks here if you like
