Default Still distorted and robotic playback with new 8.0.4

Is anybody else still having the same stupid issue with complete distorted playback with the new release of 8.0.4.

I have a Mbox2, and thought I uninstalled all the 8.04 beta drivers before installation. During the installation I had a few errors.

Now when I my mbox2 is plugged in all computer sounds are distorted. Can someone please help and give me some advice. Ive waited 8 months since I got my Mbox2 and finally the release is here and I have the same exact problem.

Check Device Manager to see what driver is actually installed.

Are the issues in PT or other apps or both?

Well I checked what driver it is defaulting too and it says:

Drive Design 8.0.4.223

Then when I click on driver details it says: File Version - 8.0.4(b).223

So I am not sure if it is defaulting to the new 8.0.4 driver that I installed with the new 64 bit version. When I plug in my Mbox 2 with usb everything i play through itunes or PT is compeltely distorted.

Before I download the new 8.0.4, I ran the uninstall of the 8.0.4b driver. So I am just stuck. Can anybody please help me out?

that is the beta driver and not the public release 8.0.4 driver. i realize that the install process is not the cleanest but once the driver is uninstalled one CANNOT turn back on the device until the install instructions say so. otherwise the device WILL find that same driver AGAIN!!! FYI...the driver is deleted from use for the device but the driver still resides in the OS drivers folder. so again, do not turn the device back on 'cause it will find the driver AND reinstall it. 8.0.4.351 is the public released driver.

Ok cool thanks....SO how do I delete this 8.0.4b driver permantely from my computer? Because I have ran the uninstall for that 8.0.4b driver like twice now and it still stays on that driver. I went to the remove hardware section in my control panel and I do not see the 8.0.4b driver there at all.

I'm having the same issue on a digi 002 rack windows xp

Posted a thread about it here http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=278128

My way around it is putting the Adat setting in the HW tab to internal and back to Adat, then it's cured for a while. The sound coming through the converters is indeed robotic, couldn't find the right word for it. Gonna compare it later on with my Mbox aswell.

Cheers

I don't see the Adat settings in the h/w tab. I just see clock source and its internal or spdif.

Do you know how to completely get rid of the 8.0.4b driver? My comp is still defaulting too that driver and not the new 8.0.4 driver
