Default Xpand2 - How to change default patch?

Hi, I would like to know if it's possible to change the default patch when Xpand2 opens. What I see is Part 1 with "001 Bright Pads - Massive Pad" and interestingly I cannot find any "Massive Pad" in the category "Bright Pads", so is this a special patch made just to be the default one?

And one silly thing, which I believe I already knew once but forgot. What is the difference between patches that start with a plus sign, for example "+01 Rock Piano" and the ones without? I found out that they use parts that end with a plus sign, but that just changes the question to: what are parts that end with a plus sign?

At the very top of any AAX plugin window you see 'Preset', click on the little tringle and find the 'Set plugin default to' and set it to 'user'. Then explore it more in the reference guide.

I'm guessing the plus sign thing means 'modified', I'm not sure.

Nice, that worked. It's necessary to "Save Settings As" and then "Set as User Default". But usually virtual instruments can set this default patch independent of DAWs so that you set it once and can have the same behavior everywhere including standalone when available. Maybe it's not possible in Xpand2?

Unfortunately the plus sign doesn't mean just a modified patch because these are like half of the factory patches.

Your Xpand!2 Plug-In Settings are numbered 1 to 29.
Create a new Folder – call it:
30 – User

Save your Default in this Folder – for use in any DAW.

For Xpand!2 Presets (= Xpand!2 Plug-In Settings), double-click on:
Xpand!2.aaxplugin

double-click on:
‘Contents’ Folder

double-click on:
‘Factory Presets’ Folder

Copy the Xpand!2 Folder

For Windows, paste it here:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Pro Tools\Plug-In Settings

Restart computer

Launch Pro Tools

Hi, I'm aware of the 29 folders and in fact I'm able to create a new one called "User", for example, and put my presets there. They are indeed seen in all DAWs but that doesn't serve the purpose of making a default patch, the one that opens with the plugin, because you still have to click to select it inside the plugin. I just want a piano everywhere when the plugin opens for the first time ;(
But in Pro Tools it's ok, because when you save the settings, it already puts the file in the folder you mentioned and it works. (Except that it seems it's messing up all knobs, not remembering them correctly when the default patch opens, but that's another issue I've just found out)

It doesn’t appear that Xpand!2’s default patch can be changed for all DAWs – but I’m unable to test this, while I’m out-of-town.

For Pro Tools only, Julian Rodgers “set up Xpand! 2 to have a useful default patch” by setting up a default MIDI Thru in Pro Tools Preferences:
https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/hom...u-in-pro-tools
“You can watch the video for free by signing up for a free 7 day trial …. then cancel the subscription within the 7 day trial period and it won't cost you a penny.”

More Xpand!2 videos:
https://premium.production-expert.co...and/3752/media

About the ‘+’ symbol:
Xpand!2 Patches have the ‘+’ symbol,
All the other Patches are from the original Xpand!

Ah, thanks for the info about the "+", I knew it was something prosaic.

So, that's it, now I'm unable to recall the preset with its correct values. Any idea why this could be happening? I can save a preset and then "Set as User Default". The preset opens, but almost all used knobs are messed up. But if I manually choose the preset (above "COMPARE"), I can see that it was saved correctly.
