Just to add a little to this thread. I think the OP is running Windows. Thunderbolt is rare on Windows machines (I'm not saying nonexistent, but rare still). Thunderbolt is much more common on Apple Macs. So, If the OP is sticking with Windows or an older machine, Thunderbolt is not really a good way to go. Do not confuse Thunderbolt with USB-C as they use the same connector.

Did you read the original post? The OP is very clearly using a Mac, very clearly explained. The thread title includes "Catalina", that ain't Windows.
