Waves GTR 3 added to Bundles in V.9

Hey, this is pretty cool. For those who own Waves Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, and are current with WUP and update to V.9 (now available), you will now get the full GTR 3 software added to your bundles. It was previously only included in Horizon and Mercury.

This includes a bunch of amps, cabinets, effects, (including some for bass), as well as various mics, and the ability to blend 2 cabinets/mics.

It appears it also includes a way to use the software standalone.

Anyway, it's always nice to have more options! I've never demoed this, but I have Diamond and I'm looking forward to using this.


For those who may not know, Version 9 of Waves plugins includes 64 bit support, and a new licensing method that gets rid of Ilok, and allows you to activate and deactivate computers, or store licenses on a USB flash drive (which would be similar to using Ilok), or store licenses in the Waves Cloud. Plus faster loading times, etc.

I downloaded & installed the V.9 version of Gold & got my licensing sorted out, but I can't find GTR in Pro Tools. Anyone else experiencing this? Is there something else we have to do? I'm really curious to try this one out...

It's a glitch they need to work out.

But all you need to do is run your v9 installer again, and just select GTR3 and install it.

Then it will show up and work fine. It also includes a standalone mode.


On a separate note, now that I've tried this, I'm pretty underwhelmed. Glad it was free.
