Default Minimize Additional Latency noise

Hello,
I opened up Pro Tools 11 today to try out the low latency mode that Avid added. I checked the "ignore errors" button and then the "minimize additional i/o latency" button. When I record enabled an audio track I get a static noise. When I uncheck it, it goes away.

In the manual it said there might be some problems for slower computers but Im on a 3.4 GHz Core i7 iMac. Does Avid consider this a slow computer? Can anyone help me with this? Thanks

Johnny

So I assume a lot -

Ur using two drives ?
Ur using at minimum of 7200 drives (the bigger the cache the better)
U have the buffer set at a value besides 32smpls?

When I choose the 32 buffer size without "additional latency" checked I get the same noise.

Anything above 32 there is no noise. Check the "additional latency" box and I get noise on all buffer sizes. The noise is a whining static noise. Thanks

That is a Duet 2 and it is connected via USB. Do you think the Duet could be the problem?
