AAE -20038 when instant Reason9
Hey guys, just installed reason 9 and protools will not launch the plug. keeps giving me AAE -20038. I see that reason gets launched in 'built in' mode and not rewire mode...

Had to reinstall PT12.5 to fix. It seems that some update for waves killed the rewire plug... Works fine now.
A weird that happened was that after reinstalling PT12.5 it defaulted to aggregate and didn't even have HD native as an option. I had to quit, then launch again while holding N to reselect HD native engine, and then it worked fine...

I jumped the gun. Next time I restarted the computer- same story.
Protools prompts -20038 and now I have to reinstall. Please fix!

Are you inserting Reason on a AUX track or an Instrument track? Try Instrument track if you have used the AUX track.
Also delete the avid core audio in the HAL folder. That helped others right away.

Instrument track. And nothing to do with Hal. Had to reinstall protools and STILL didn't help. Trashing prefs and rebuilding did the trick.
Been consistent for a couple of days now...

Only after updating to 12.5.2 did it work again. (briefly)
Installed a couple new Waves plugs and now it's not working again. Oh boy...

You ran Reason in standalone 1st?
Quit Reason. Launch Pro Tools only New blank session Insert Reason into a STEREO Aux (Rewire defaults to no-connction) Choose Mix L Mix R from the rewire plug-in.

That seemed to work... It's still a workaround. If you do it in a different order after startup PT won't load the reason plug and you'll have to restart...
