nostromo N52 programable macro game pad...

Hey there, im new to pro tools and i was wondering if anyone is using the N52 and if so what are your macro settings?

for thoes of you who dont know what it is, the nostromo N52 a 16 button programable key pad made for games such as counter strike, but im sure that it can easily be adapted for use with pro tools. It enables the user to create custom macros which will complete a series of key strokes.

i bought mine for $40 at best buy, theres one on ebay goin for $15.

A while back I hooked up a Nostromo controller with 12 buttons. It had 10 on top, then a 4-way on the side and a slider type "roll" button. It worked well with PTLE once all the macros were set. I just had to make sure that the Nostromo controller was set in the correct configuration before I opened PTLE. Then all was fine. I recall that once PTLE was opened it didn't change settings well.

I used it for a while on a project that required lots of edidting, changing modes, consolidating, expanding/contracting track view... and it helped. But for small projects I don't think it is worth the effort. I set it up for my left hand and used the mouse with the right hand, and it was a powerful combination!
