PT HD8 HD3 Magma can't find 192 connection

Hi I have a PT 8 HD3 system running on Mac Pro with osx snow leopard. I have 1x core and 2x accel pcix in a magma chassis.
The system has run flawlessly until today I'm getting the message "unable to find interface attached to first HD card". I have reseated all card in magma and in the Mac. I have reset smc and PRAM. Digitest passes but can't start protools and keep getting error. I even tried a different boot version of osx with protools on that and that was the same so I feel its hardware issue.

Has anyone come across this before,

If I cannot repair this I may need to upgrade but I do not want to go to HDX Im happy with HD

"unable to find interface attached to first HD card" sounds like the interface is bad or the cable to that interface has went south. I’d check those as this doesn’t sound like it’s your HD cards. If you have more than one interface/cable it should be easy to do.

First disconnect all interfaces/cable and start with just one interface plugged into your core card, if it doesn’t work swap cables.
If it still doesn’t work swap interfaces.
After that and it still doesn’t work I’d try a reinstall of Pro Tools.
