Yes - its the same error message reported from WSC
Ive attached photos and the logs

At the moment, I just have the MTM computer section plugged in, directly to the computer.
I dont have the lower part ofthe MTM plugged in, so am not touching it - i see the meters for a while, maybe 15minutes and then this happens.

Under Lewis's instructions, we tried using port 2 - so I had that setup for a while during this process. Back on port one now.

I'm not sure of the age of the desk - I purchased it second hand from Studio 301 - I think they got it in 2018 from what I can work out.

It has M6M40 on the front panel.

I think the next things to try is to reimage the MTM operating system. Unless you already did this?
As its secondhand and an older system, we don't know what the previous owner did. Do you have the rescue image (should be in your account. It's the Emerson one not Congatec/Portwell). It needs to be burnt onto a USB stick but only takes 10 mins to do. We will need to be able to put the license back onto it after, so have that handy (the .bin file).

Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense and I'll clarify before doing it.

Ok I see from the manual I can get that online.
Because I’m not swapping the module, I don’t need to unclaim all the modules before I do this?

HI Eddie,

So, Did the complete re-install and everything went fine - got the desk back to more or less how I had it before, and still crashing.

But then I thought - maybe I should delete all the custom maps and go back to factory default settings.

Since doing that it's been half an hour with no crash!

I'm not going to hold my breath, but I need to get out of the studio before next week, so I will report back on Monday.

Here's the log after the re-install while still crashing.

Here's the log after trashing the custom maps and prefs - NO FREEZING

I just wanted to express my sincere gratidude for all your time and expertise to date - hopefully this is the end of it!

Your persistence is noteworthy ! Just to confirm you deleted the custom knob maps? Maybe one was corrupted....but we should handle that better. Let me know if it truly fixed it.

Yes - full day's work not a single problem.

Also the console is much more responsive than it ever has been - I dont have to press attn twice, much faster etc etc.

I returned the preferences to factory - that is what seems to have stopped the problem.

I have since got my custom maps back, and its still working perfectly.

So, it would appear to me, that something with the preferences was indeed the problem all along - which is in line with what Avid support was talking about with the initial instruction to turn off one preference...

The suspect prefs are here, fwiw.

Eddie - thank you so much for guiding me through all of this.
We're back in business!

Bob.
