Strike not being triggered by Midi keyboard

Whenever i create an instrument track and place Strike as an insert on the track, I am able to trigger the different beats, fills, etc with my midi keyboard. After I save the session, exit the session, then go back into it, I am unable to trigger the beats and fills with my keyboard unless I delete the instrument track and create it again. Has anyone experienced this? I am running PT 7.4.1, HD2 on a Mac Pro 2.6 ghz. machine.

Do you have Pro Tools set to use the first selected track as the default thru instrument? If so, are you selecting the Strike track when you re-open the session?

That was it. I had the "first selected MIDI track" as the Default Thru Instrument, but I didnt have the Strike track selected. Thank you very much for your help.
