Default Plugin latency

I get a delay on most of my plugins.
I check this by command-clicking on the volume indicator.
Even the "Trim" plugin gives a 1 sample delay, wich surprised me, as it is supposed to not use any dsp at all.

Anyway, what made me suspicious is that none of the McDSP plugins indicate delay at all! So I tried to mesure:
I duplicated a track with a simple audio region on it, prosessed it with audiosuite versions of filterbank and compressorbank, and played back the original and the prosessed track simultaneously. No filter combing - no latency. Fine.

Then I tried a McDSP MC multiband compressor wich also says zero latency when you command-click on the volume using it as an RTAS plug. The comb filtering is obvious!

Can’t we trust this delay indicator?
Is it up to the Plugin manufacturer to make this latency indicator active or not?

Yeah, I think it's up to the plug-in developer. No trusting on that one, neither TDM or LE...

Man, this would be the great feature for all plugins to have.

What a no brainer for plugin makers, why are they not ALL supporting it?

Maybe it's relative to how many tracks/plugins your using at the time, and therefore impossible to do properly? I don't know?

We should ask BF and McDsp.
